We are fortunate to have on our staff Howard Doctor, who was chief engineer and one of the founders of AVI, a Canadian loudspeaker manufacturer based in Richmond, BC. Having designed the AVI speakers, Howard has a unique perspective on their repair and modification.

Around the world, AVI is known for their car audio speakers, including the world's first midranges to use neodymium magnets, and the first 24dB per octave passive crossovers in the industry. AVI speakers have been well reviewed in the international press, even winning a one-on-one comparison test against Dynaudio. In other press, AVI always outperforms competitors, and hundreds of IASCA sound competition awards are powerful proof of their superiority.

In 1993, AVI began production of in-wall speaker systems, designed for the home theatre market. These too were well recieved, and sold well, so today, tens of thousands of homes now enjoy the AVI experience. More recently, AVI has released several pro-audio speaker systems, including line arrays, and high output systems for theatres, nightclubs and sports facilities. Having Howard gives us the ultimate expertise when it comes to AVI speaker repairs, so we do it right. Parts availability (especially for pre-1995 models) can be difficult, because a key parts vendor closed down, but we have alternate parts, and can still repair almost every AVI speaker ever made.
